color crush

Inspired by a recent nail polish and lipstick purchase, I find myself oddly thinking of Pepto Bismol when I see this color (insert 'MOM' comment here). I'm not much of a 'Barbie' pink girl, so embracing this adorable hue in other fashion outlets such as accessories and beauty products is the way I'm going this summer. The word 'bubblegum' is a bit nostalgic, reminding me of twenty-five cent gumball machines and traveling to my favorite candy store when I was younger. There's nothing worse than being 7 and not getting the red, blue, or pink gumball because you knew those ones were the BEST. I still partake in the occasional gumball machine trip, and still get mad when I don't receive my color of choice.....it's a first world problem, I know.

Here are some of my favorite Pepto Bismol items :

ELLE : Wella Hair : Canopi : Charles Scott Salon

On Thursday night, I was invited to a wonderful event held by ELLE Magazine, Wella Hair and Canopi at Charles Scott Salon in Rocky River, OH. Bloggers and ladies from around the Cleveland area attended. We received mini spa treatments, tasty little bites, and Prosecco (can you ever really have a bad time when Prosecco and spa treatments are involved?!) I met some lovely ladies, had great conversation, and indulged in more fruit tarts than I should have. But hey, C'est La Vie!
Love the inside of Charles Scott Salon
The nail and hair area was packed!!
Maria from Style Letters, Myself, Jennie from R/S boutique, Emily from sixteen OH eight
Emily and I are on the same fashion wavelength. Great minds think alike....
My favorite...I may try and replicate this deliciousness.
And then there was this table....... You couldn't say NO to this table.
Not to mention, we were sent home with an amazing little Wella/ELLE gift bag in an eco-friendly tote that I will definitely use at the WSM. I had such a fabulous time! I want to send a HUGE THANK YOU to Wella Hair, ELLE Magazine, Canopi, and Charles Scott Salon for holding this event! Great people, great food, fashion, beauty, and friends....perfection.
CHEERS!

trend of the week : graphic tees

From 2 Pac to Lil' Bub, graphic tees are making a huge statement right now and I am obsessing over all of them. Pairing these ever-so-casual pieces with items such as leather skirts and striped shorts make for an outfit overload in my mind and my closet. I love graphic tees mostly because you can wear them anywhere, with anything. Dress them up, or dress them down....the styling opportunities are endless. Retailers like Forever 21 and Urban Outfitters have taken some hilarious, weird, adorable, and gangster approaches to their graphics. The 'muscle tee' is extremely popular right now, and I will be honest, it took me a few tries to find the right one. This is a difficult silhouette to work with because it's not the most flattering, but if you're not a muscle tee lover, there are SO many other options! Here are some of my faves :

Are you loving the graphic tee trend as much as I am???

currently craving

Me playing with my DSLR.....I don't use this enough.

Obsessing over this color of lipstick right now. Just recently purchased and I cannot wait to try it out.

Deciding when the right time will be to SPLURGE on this amazing Free People piece.

Debating on whether I should purchase this dress for my trip to Cabo.

This song has been on repeat for 2 days, and I don't plan on changing that any time soon.

Attempting this recipe tomorrow for Mother's Day. Let's hope I don't burn the house down.

Cannot get enough of bra-inspired bathing suits, especially this one.

Found these wedges on sale for $25 and still cannot believe it. STEAL.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend filled with lots of love for Mother's Day!

1 piece : 4 ways

I'm sure the first thing that comes to mind when some of you see these is "Mom Shorts", and sister let me tell you, I thought the same thing until I tried my first pair on. High waisted denim shorts are not for everyone, and for that reason all styles listed below will work just as well with any pair of denim. But I will say - 'You never know until you try'. Enjoy!

Untitled #29
#1 : Paired with a bird printed chiffon top, woven fedora, and leather strappy sandals, this outfit is perfect for a day outside in the sun (with SPF, of course). Combining the shorts with a flowy-like top keeps you comfortable and free-feeling. Want to be daring with the waistline?! Try tucking the front of your top into the shorts to accent those gorgeous curves.

Untitled #31

#2 : I'm channeling my inner hipster with this look. Trend I want to try - wearing a beanie with Summer pieces. You can never go wrong when pairing denim shorts with a graphic tee or tank and of course, Chuck Taylors. I would have styled this with military boots, but I'm not there yet. Baby steps...

Untitled #32

#3 : My personal favorite this week. Casual meets classy. Pair a pastel blazer with a neutral colored tee (try knotting the front of the tee to showcase the high waisted shorts), mix with a neon necklace and a nude heel and you're ready for a night out! There are endless possibilities with this outfit, you could try a striped blazer or a polka dotted tee, I'm just obsessed with neons and neutrals right now....... Ladies, if you wear it with confidence and you can wear anything!

Untitled #30

#3 : I'm pretty smitten with baseball jackets and have been for months - stay tuned for an outfit post, as I just purchased an adorable one. The baseball jacket is so versatile. This is a piece that you can wear anywhere. I picked a floral jacket to mix with the shorts and a white lace crop top. You could really layer anything solid underneath the jacket, I just like the look of the lace. It gives the outfit a 'boy meets girl' feel.

Which look is your favorite??

color crush

AKA Mint, Light Green or Seafoam. Pistachio has been a Lovelee favorite for as long as I can remember. Pistachio is a color that is so lightweight and free-feeling, I find myself always flocking to it in stores. Outside of all of the colors I have weekly 'crushes' on, Pistachio is a hue that will forever be in my closet, no matter what time of year it is! I love seeing how designers incorporate it into their Spring/Summer lines because, to be honest, a paper bag could be the color Pistachio and I would still attempt to wear it - that's how much I adore this color. Crazy? Probably. Dedicated to the hue? Yes!

Here are my Pistachio Color Crush inspirations :

coral : southwestern

Hello good hair moment, it's nice to see you.
And then it's gone.......
And then it's kind of back again......

Some call it southwestern, some call it tribal, and some call it ethnic print. Whatever it may be, I heart it. There are so many different variations of this print out in the shopping world right now - bags, shorts, tanks, bathing suits....Southwestern print is HUGE and I don't expect it to go anywhere anytime soon. This one I am wearing is a personal favorite and I like to call it a 'steal' purchase. No, not a 5 finger discount...I'm a mom with a career, we don't do those things....unless my child secretly sticks a pack of gum in his pocket, which has happened before (embarrassing and hilarious all at the same time). A 'steal' purchase is a low price purchase that also comes with the mental factor of not being able to wrap your mind around how little you paid for the item. Like checking the receipt 3 times to make sure it's real life.....
